The Dental Survey started as the “Knutzen Survey” by Dave Knutzen 30 years ago. Dave was a pioneer in dental practice management and has long been recognized for his innovative and no-nonsense, bottom-line approach to successful dental practice management. Initially available to Dentists in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, The Dental Survey quickly proved itself as a valuable and powerful management and consulting tool. Through its reputation and recognition, demand for The Dental Survey led to its nationwide expansion and is now available and utilized by Dentists and consultants throughout the United States and Canada. Today The Dental Survey’s two principal partners are Ms. Shari Tastad and Mr. Tim Twigg. Shari brings nearly 20 years of business savvy and a proven results-oriented approach to her work and client consulting, coaching and facilitating. As a hygienist, Shari enhanced her business skills while attending the University of Washington where she completed the Integrative Program in Business Administration through the University’s Graduate School. This education helped her blend her clinical experience and business background. Shari has also authored a chapter titled “What goes around comes around-Keep practice communication on track with the awareness wheel” in the in the recently published book Powerful Practice. Memberships and affiliations include: the Academy of Dental Management Consultants (ADMC), Washington State Dental Hygiene Association and the Washington State Dental Association. Tim brings 30 years of practice management and business consulting experience and knowledge specifically in the healthcare field. Tim is a published author of articles for many major healthcare journals and a chapter in a recently published book Powerful Practice entitled “Building a Winning Team”. He also speaks on leadership and business development, strategic marketing, communication skills and employment law compliance. Tim is a member of the Academy of Dental Management Consultants (ADMC), the Association of Veterinary Practice Management Consultants and Advisors (AVPMCA), the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the National Speakers Association (NSA). Both Shari and Tim bring a lifelong commitment to learning and helping others achieve their personal goals.
